How do I motivate myself?

I never stuck to any gym classes that I signed up for even though they were cool and fun. I guess many times the schedule just didn’t work for my lifestyle and I was just not motivated enough to find a way around it, so I just gave up… Very typical of me when it came to exercising. I wanted to see the results quickly, preferably now! Obviously getting fit takes time and many personal trainers tell you it is a combination of food, life style and workout. One day I sat down and thought about my motivation to exercise… Haha yeah had that deep chat with myself! I realised that exercise, especially running for me is more about the mental balance. I take this time to switch off, get some perspective on situations and also get some happy hormones. How did I motivate myself to go running without a trainer? I realised that making a promise to somebody makes me feel accountable and that in turn motivates me to deliver. I promised my mum that I would go running 10km every day and as a proof I would send her a screenshot of the running app with the date. She would check on me regularly, cheer me up when I didn’t feel motivated but tell me off if I didn’t go running. So I would, that same day. Of course, I was shit when I started, but with time my running improved considerably and now I run 10 km in 58 min yaay! I’m super proud of that and I feel much happier every day 🤗 . How about you?
